Major earthquake has struck Haiti's capital city of Port-Au-Prince. It is a catastrophe of major proportions. Multiple buildings have collapsed, including a hospital, a hotel, and the UN building.
The devastation is immeasurable.

Improve Quality of Life
1. Keep displaced persons safe. Ensure that they are settled in a secure location.
2. Provide safe access to basic needs, including food, safe and appropriate cooking fuel, portable water, sanitation and shelter.
3. Communicate with the people most affected and ensure their safety whether or not they have legal status or official documents.
4. Provide life-saving health care, including reproductive healthcare. Ensure there are enough health workers and all necessary medicines and supplies to prevent and respond to infectious diseases and other health needs.read more

June 19, 2010 Gala Dinner
International, government and corporate leaders gather in New York, for the premier event for Haiti in the United States.
The Dinner pays tribute to leaders in Haiti and abroad and supports Simact Foundation’s work.
On Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the Grand Prospect Hall, Simact Foundation will recognize the work of individuals who have made a significant impact in the lives of Haitians in the Diaspora and Haiti.
The theme of the 2010 Dinner is Rebuilding Haiti through Leadership and Innovation.
